Looking Back at 2009, Looking Forward to 2010

Wednesday, January 06, 2010

This past year has been a notable one for me personally, and for the ScruffyDragon team as a whole. I know you've probably had your fill of "end of the year"/"end of the decade" posts, so I'll try not to bore you with that (much), and instead focus on my plans for the new year.

But first, a brief recap on 2009:

Now, here are my goals for 2010:

So, that's the plan. I'll try to keep up the pace I set last year of posting something here at least weekly (usually on the weekend, Friday or Saturday), and we'll see how things go. I'm looking forward to a great 2010, and I wish the same for everyone here.

New portait

Sunday, September 06, 2009

(First off, sorry for the apparent "filler" nature of this post; the next episode of "Hal Jordan: Blackest Night Edition" is coming soon, but I'm still working out the kinks in the palette and how I want the intro to work, before I post it.)

With the above caveat out of the way, I wanted to show off the awesome portrait ScruffyDragon forum member The Arlequin just did for our in-progress Mandarin character:

portrait of the Mandarin, by Arlequin
(You may need to reload to see it; I was using a placeholder with the same filename before)

Isn't that awesome? It's now the image on both the Character Select and Mandarin pages of the site. Thanks again, Arlequin! :D

I also tweaked the code that I was using to generate my tag cloud on the sidebar... the maximum and minimum text sizes were too outrageous, especially considering how many different tags I am using. So hopefully you'll agree that it looks better now.

Since this is a long weekend here in the U.S., hopefully you'll be seeing "Bluish-Green Lantern" Hal on Monday.

-Edit- Fixed internal page links.

12 Days of Christmas, Plus a few new WIPs

Wednesday, December 19, 2007

Two things to report on tonight:
1. I plan to observe the "12 Days of Christmas" as a MUGEN event this year. What that means to you reading this site, will become clear on the 1st day of Christmas, December 25th.

2. I've picked up two new character WIPs, Mandarin (initial sprites by McCready) and Invisible Woman (initial sprites by DocOck4MUGEN). Check 'em out:
